SVP-224: Surface Protection Tape for Glass, Coated Optics, and Delicate Finishes
Decades-Proven Protection for Precision Surfaces
Originally developed for protecting metal during fabrication and handling, SVP-224 has, over decades of use, proven to be the ideal surface protection solution for glass, coated optics, and LCD components. Its balanced adhesion, clean removability, and conformability make it a go-to material for protecting sensitive finishes including anti-reflection coatings, HEA 6102009, and LCD polarizers.
Optimized for Advanced Coatings
This tape is particularly well-suited for use on:
- Anti-reflective (AR) coatings
- HEA 6102009 coatings
- Optical glass and LCD panels
- Pre-laminated polarizer films
- Other coated or treated glass surfaces
⚠️ Important: For delicate or less-robust coatings—such as hot mirrors, IR filters, or ultra-thin sputtered layers—we recommend applying gentle heat or using isopropyl alcohol (IPA) or acetone on the back side of the film only to loosen the adhesive before removal. This helps prevent any stress or peeling of fragile coatings.
Key Features
- Clean Peel-Off: Leaves no residue on glass or coated surfaces—even after extended dwell times.
- Gentle Yet Reliable Adhesion: Protects without pulling or stressing coatings.
- Conformable Film: Accommodates curves and textured surfaces without bubbling or lifting.
- Process-Compatible: Withstands cutting, handling, and mechanical processing when needed.
- UV-Stable (Moderate): Offers temporary outdoor protection during transport or staging.
⚠️ Caution: Use with care on touch panels or other sensor-integrated glass, as excessive adhesion may cause disruption or stress on conductive layers.
