Engineering services / Production support
From LCD cell to finished display.
Custom solutions and complete factory builds, with support for electronics, mechanical design and production processes. Address a supply constraint, develop a new assembly or improve an existing production line.
Custom display builds and supply continuity
Many display challenges begin with supply: a discontinued module, an unavailable size or a standard assembly that no longer fits the product. We help develop custom solutions and complete factory builds around the display cell and the application.
- Cell-glass options: use existing LCD cell glass, including resized cells where technically suitable. Custom LCD glass can be sourced when the application requires it.
- Build around the cell: custom TAB interconnects, timing-controller electronics (TCON), backlight and housing, with interfaces and mechanical details matched to the equipment.
- Plan the complete assembly: optical bonding, front-surface AR coatings, dimming and other enhancements as required, with factory build and production support.
We review availability, technical fit, expected volume and the replacement or development path together. Share the current part number, drawings, supply problem and target quantity; an incomplete specification is a useful starting point.
Discuss a custom build or supply issue →Process and handling
Develop methods for receiving, inspecting, cleaning, storing, assembling, testing and packing LCD, OLED, cover glass and bonded assemblies. Review contamination, pressure points, surface damage and handling risks before they become production problems.
- Handling, cleaning and inspection procedures, including scratch, dig and cosmetic criteria.
- Workstation, fixture, packaging and protection recommendations.
- Process troubleshooting, operator training materials and production handover.
For bonding materials, optical stacks and dispensing processes, see optical bonding development.
Electronics and display drivers
Evaluate interfaces, controller boards, backlight drivers, power and firmware requirements for custom or replacement display applications. Support can include embedded microprocessors and single-board computers such as Raspberry Pi and ESP32, display control software and user-interface integration.
- HDMI, LVDS, eDP, MIPI and custom interface planning.
- Brightness, dimming and NVIS/day-night control concepts.
- Controller selection, custom PCBA direction, firmware planning and supplier coordination.
For the complete assembly and environmental requirements, see rugged display integration.
Mechanical design and prototypes
Turn sketches, measurements or existing parts into practical models, drawings and prototypes. Adapt a display to an enclosure or legacy system, define mounting details, or prepare a design for quoting and production.
- Enclosures, brackets, adapters, bezels, cover-glass layouts and mounting hardware.
- 3D modeling, CAD drawings, tooling concepts, fixtures and test setups.
- In-house prototyping and 3D printing, assembly fit checks, cable and harness planning.
Technical documentation
Convert engineering knowledge, drawings, photographs and process steps into usable controlled documents. Agree the audience, approval process and required outputs before writing begins.
- Work instructions and assembly, inspection, test and repair procedures.
- Quality records, forms, travelers, supplier requirements and specifications.
- Drawing notes and manufacturing or repair guidance.
Production and quality improvement
Review how technical work is planned, documented, measured and controlled. Support includes process reviews, responsibilities, documentation flow, useful performance measures, corrective actions and internal audit preparation.
We work with clients on alignment with applicable ISO 9001 and AS9100 requirements. The required compliance evidence or certification path is defined for the specific project; this is not a claim of blanket certification or guaranteed approval.
What to send us
Share the display or assembly model, application, drawings or photographs, current process, known problem, expected volume and the outputs you need. Include relevant environmental, optical, quality or approval requirements.
We will help define a practical scope, responsibilities and deliverables. Work may focus on a single issue or a staged development and production program.
