Welcome to the DO-160 Display Qualification course forum. This is a place to ask questions, compare practical approaches and help improve the course as it develops.

Our focus is the display system: panels and optical stacks, electronics, power, enclosures, mounting, cooling and display interfaces. We cover component evidence, complete-system qualification and installed verification for fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters.

Explore the course. The full course is currently free to preview during development; the end date is TBD. Sign in and enroll free if you want to track progress and record quiz completion.

Good places to begin

  • Chapter 01: component, system and installation boundaries — decide what the evidence actually covers.
  • Chapter 04: temperature limits, ramp rates and decompression — put familiar numbers into their correct context.
  • Chapter 11: shock and vibration and Chapter 14: EMC — discuss fixed-wing and helicopter applications.
  • Chapter 19: testing contracts — turn requirements into clear supplier deliverables.

Help make each discussion useful

Link the chapter you are discussing and identify the standard revision, test section and category where relevant. Describe the display boundary, installation assumptions and behavior you are trying to verify. For a suggested correction, include the source or reasoning and the change you recommend. Share examples you are permitted to publish.

Course examples support engineering learning; the applicable standards, equipment specification and accepted qualification plan govern a real program.

Introduce yourself: what kind of display or installation do you work with, and which qualification question would you most like this course to answer?
