Resized Display Calculator

Estimate the usable resolution, aspect ratio, diagonal size, and active area of a display after it has been physically resized or cut down.

Enter the original display resolution and active area, then enter the resized active width and height. The calculator estimates the new pixel resolution based on the original pixel pitch.

This tool is useful for evaluating custom-cut LCD, OLED, touch panel, embedded display, and industrial display options.

Important: The estimated cut resolution is based on the original panel pixel pitch. Actual cut-panel feasibility depends on display technology, driver architecture, routing, seal structure, bonding area, and whether the panel can be electrically addressed after cutting. In addition to the visible active area, most resized displays require approximately 1 mm to 4 mm of additional border area beyond the active area, depending on LCD or OLED design.

Review a resized display concept

Bring the original panel specifications, active dimensions, proposed cut area, interface requirements, and enclosure constraints to the discussion. A geometry estimate does not establish whether a particular panel can be physically resized or qualified for the application.
