FPD.DEV / Microprocessors

TI Sitara AM64x Processors

Combine Linux applications with real-time control and industrial communications. AM64x is a starting point for equipment controllers, gateways and systems that separate application software from time-critical work.

FPD.DEV family PN: MPR-03108-00

Start with a short description. We can help select the exact device and integration path.

Representative illustration; package and board layout depend on the selected model.

Compare selected options.

Device optionApplication / real-time coresSelection focus
AM64122 × Cortex-A53; 1 × Cortex-R5FApplication processing with a smaller real-time core allocation
AM64222 × Cortex-A53; 2 × Cortex-R5FSplit control tasks and application software
AM64422 × Cortex-A53; 4 × Cortex-R5FMore real-time processing resources

Family ceilings include 1 GHz Cortex-A53 and 800 MHz Cortex-R5F operation, with a Cortex-M4F subsystem. AM6442 supports DDR4/LPDDR4, PRU industrial communications and interfaces such as Gigabit Ethernet, USB 3.0 and PCIe Gen 2. Features and speeds depend on the selected device and operating conditions.

The FPD.DEV PN identifies this family for inquiry and review. Manufacturer part numbers in the table identify options; final ordering suffixes, availability and scope are confirmed with your quotation.

Where it can fit.

Industrial gateways

Connect field networks to higher-level applications while defining protocol and timing requirements.

Equipment control

Partition Linux services and real-time tasks, including startup and fault recovery behavior.

Display-connected systems

Use a separate display subsystem or suitable external interface where a local HMI is required.

Define the integration before the part.

AM64x is focused on control and connectivity; it does not provide the integrated graphics/display path of an HMI-focused processor. Review the board support package, industrial protocol licensing and exact interface requirements.

Texas Instruments is a U.S.-headquartered supplier. Verify country of origin for the selected device or module rather than inferring it from the supplier address.

We prefer U.S. and other suitable non-China sourcing when quality, performance and availability fit the application. Tell us if origin or traceability is a firm requirement.

Tell us what the system needs to do.

Share the application, interfaces, environment and timing you know. We will work through the remaining choices with you.
