Product Detail: OPA / Momentive RTV6136-D1 / Clear Potting Silicone / 1:1 Mix

Silicone families and enhancements

All silicone materials · Momentive silicones · Dow silicones · Optica silicones

Platinum-cure silicone enhancements — catalyst, adhesion promoters, crosslinker and retarder.

Enhancements are developed for the selected silicone and application; compatibility and final optical clarity are established by testing.

Silicone kit sizes

100 g · 250 g · 500 g · 1000 g · 1900 g · 7296 g · 36000 g — combined A+B net mass.

Custom repackaged sizes of 100, 250, 500 and 1000 g are included alongside the existing package sizes listed above. Select the size and formulation options, then add the selection to your Interest List. Parts A and B are supplied separately in the required mixing ratio. Pack mass does not change the formulation’s specified mixing basis.

RTV6136-D1 clear silicone gel

Momentive RTV6136-D1 is a two-component, low-viscosity silicone that cures to a very soft gel with improved tear resistance compared with conventional silicone gels. Its base formulation uses matched A and B components at 1:1 by weight.

Manufacturer reference conditions

Momentive’s RTV6136-D1 / RTV6139-D1 TDS, revision 2021-05-05, lists typical mixed viscosity of 750 mPa·s and working life of 30 minutes at 25°C. Approximate base-material cure schedules are 4 hours at 25°C, 2 hours at 50°C, 20 minutes at 100°C or 10 minutes at 150°C. Heating time and material mass affect the actual cure time.

These are manufacturer reference data for the base material, not measured results for FPD.DEV enhancements. Kit matching and the stated mixing basis matter. Review the applicable lot documentation and qualify the actual display assembly.

Developing an enhanced formulation

We develop working time, adhesion and cured response for optical bonding and clear encapsulation. Changes to additives or A:B ratio create a separate formulation outside the original manufacturer’s specifications. The manufacturer’s base-material process limits do not define the full scope of our development, and its performance claims do not transfer automatically to the modified material.

Compare Momentive silicone grades and kit sizes.

Optical bonding of LCD, OLED and MicroLED displays

Optical bonding of LCD displays, OLED displays and MicroLED displays is a core FPD.DEV expertise. We develop silicone materials and processes around the complete display stack: cover glass, coatings, touch layers, bond-line thickness, optical performance and assembly requirements.

Material selection and formulation are evaluated for the actual display, substrates and cure process. A clear silicone alone does not establish compatibility with every display technology.

Base material and FPD.DEV enhancement development

FPD.DEV develops modified silicone formulations outside the original manufacturer’s specifications. Manufacturer data describe the unmodified base material under the stated conditions; they do not establish the performance or approval of an FPD.DEV-modified formulation.

Custom packaging alone does not change the chemistry. Additive blending, mix-ratio changes and other formulation modifications require their own identification, mixing instructions and application-specific testing. Working time, cure, adhesion, optical clarity and storage stability are established for the modified system.
