Design. Enhance. Repair.

Design a custom module

Build the light source, optical stack, drive electronics and mechanical package around the display. Balance luminance, uniformity, viewing angle, color, power and temperature. Include separate day and filtered night channels when the application calls for dual-mode NVIS operation.

Enhance an existing backlight

Review the installed LEDs, rails, reflectors and optical films together. Improve useful brightness, uniformity or efficiency where the display allows, or develop a new dimming or night-mode capability. Preserve the interfaces and mechanical fit the application needs.

Repair and restore performance

Replace damaged films, degraded reflectors or failed light sources and address the cause of failure. Our aim is a backlight as good as new—or better where a suitable upgrade is practical—verified against an agreed original or revised performance baseline.

Materials by function

Every layer has a job.

The best result comes from matching the materials as a complete optical system.

Light sources

White LEDs and rail assemblies generate the light. Their spacing, color and drive are matched to the display.

Light distribution

Light guides and coupling features spread source light across the display area.

Uniformity

Diffusers and light-shaping films mix light to reduce hot spots and uneven illumination.

Brightness direction

Prismatic films, including BEF families, redirect light toward the intended viewing region.

Polarization recycling

Reflective polarizers, including DBEF families, give light another opportunity to pass through the LCD.

Light recovery

Specular and diffuse reflectors return escaping light to the backlight cavity.

Spectral control

IR filters, hot mirrors and related optics control unwanted wavelengths for the application.

Mechanical and thermal support

Spacers, seals and thermal interfaces maintain alignment, control leakage and manage LED heat.

Day and night operation

Dual-mode NVIS, designed as a system.

Pair a daylight channel with a separately controlled, filtered night channel. IR-filter chips, strips and other optical formats are selected with the LEDs, drive electronics and light paths.

Required NVIS class, color and operating levels guide the design. Performance is verified on the complete display; a filter alone does not establish compliance.

Start with the display you have—or the one you need.

Share the LCD model or drawing, the problem to solve, and your performance targets. We’ll define the material selection, integration work and acceptance checks around your application.

For repairs, photos of the damage and the original operating conditions help establish the baseline. For new or upgraded modules, include quantity, timing and any day/night requirements.
